Distance Yourself From Hate mask

“Distance Yourself From Hate” is both a statement for social distancing and against discrimination. This mask reflects the politicised and racialised nature of masks in the United States during the pandemic. As “Stop Asian Hate” and “Black Lives Matter” movements gained momentum in North America and beyond, such masks with slogans can be a “voice” for the marginalised masses in pandemic times Sales of this mask is part of a campaign by GMHC, together with theCollectiveShift, to distribute food and protective masks to people in need in New York City. The rising xenophobia was denounced by many Asian-Americans including Jason Wu, Maggie Q and Yu Tsai who wore these masks.
