Breath mask
The Irish visual artist threadstories started working with masks in 2015 as a vehicle in which to explore the erosion of personal privacy in the digital age, and how it shapes how we view and portray ourselves online, via a series of beautiful, if sometimes grotesque, masks that have a deep emotional resonance to them. Created at the start of the Irish lockdown, her mask ‘Breath’ interrogates how a natural act for all mankind became a subjective act that could harm as well as heal, which resonates within her performance that can be seen here – https://www.instagram.com/threadstories/?hl=en
