Clothing the Pandemic

A Virtual Exhibition of COVID-19 Face Masks from Around the World

Crea Verre a Soie mask

On the initiative of the association Créa Verre à Soie, a voluntary association located in the town of Mimet, the mayor's office in a small town launched the distribution of free masks made by volunteer sewers who worked more than 8 hours a day in an improvised sewing workshop. At the same time, the municipality collected the basic materials needed: fabric, cotton, fine fleece and elastic bands. The elastic became particularly rare, as shown by the prototype presented, made with fabric ties to replace the hard to acquire product.
