Clothing the Pandemic

A Virtual Exhibition of COVID-19 Face Masks from Around the World

Eagle mask

Snuneymuxw First Nation artist, Joel Good, designed Eagle mask in Coast Salish style for Ay Lelum The Good House of Design, a ready to wear and Coast Salish Couture brand owned by his sisters Aunalee and Sophia. The imagery, based on teachings from their father William Good, can be worn by all. Joel said, “I made a gnarly design… To keep people away.” It is printed in collaboration with Oddball Workshop, that had the textile tested for Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) by Nelson Lab. The mask is 96% effective against droplet transmission.
