Clothing the Pandemic

A Virtual Exhibition of COVID-19 Face Masks from Around the World

Fringe mask

The mask is made from a black and white herring-bone patterned wool, decorated with golden and rose sequins and a long rose fringe at the left side. It matches an outfit decorated with a big sequined bird in the collection of the Kiscell Museum, which was presented in the exhibition Shine! Fashion and Glamour. When the curator decided to put masks on the mannequins in the summer of 2020, the designers created a mask especially for this dress. For their next A/W fashion show, they presented the models wearing masks that were also for sale with the garments.
