Mask by Iwan Tirta

This mask features Iwan Tirta’s signature hand-drawn and dyed motif. It is not only functional but also a canvas on which traditional batik craft is adapted for modern use. Iwan Tirta was celebrated for his quality batik and internationally acclaimed for designing batik clothes for Ronald Reagan and Nelson Mandela. Era Soekamto who became the creative director after Iwan Tirta’s passing learned from the same group of artisans as he had. Today, the brand continues to reinterpret Indonesia’s rich history of batik into fashionable items.
