Face mask and turban
One mask does not fit all. Many in the Sikh community wear turbans, and Sikh men often wear beads. Conventional facemasks proved unfunctional. Sanjeet Kaur of a AKaurBrand sought to help protect her husband who is a policeman on the front line, as well as her wider community. Her group created a new mask design: soft, wide cottons straps and triple snaps. In addition, they created a new turban pattern, called Intense; with its bright colours and bold pattern, it battles the horrors of the pandemic with beauty and imparts strength to its wearer.

Sanjeet Kaur and Harpreet Singh, of AKaurBrand, talk about how the pandemic prompted them to design special masks that can be worn over turbans, head coverings, and long beards, as well as special turban patterns to battle COVID-19 with beauty and colour.
