Celebrating Palestinian Heritage “ARD Project” masks

The concept of New York-based designer Rami Kashou’s ARD Project developed over quarantine in early 2020 during a moment of quiet reflection on the state of the world’s health and artisans’ livelihoods. In Arabic, ard means world or land and he designed a series of limited edition collectable and genderless masks as a nod to his Palestinian-Jordanian roots and heritage. He says: “Some are hand embroidered while others are inspired by the craft. Tatreez (embroidery projects) support the artisans while preserving an endangered and masterful art.”
