Clothing the Pandemic

A Virtual Exhibition of COVID-19 Face Masks from Around the World

Bow Mask

This mask by New York-based designer Hillary Taymour, of the fashion label Collina Strada is an example of the many smaller, independent fashion labels who redirected their creative talents to making face masks during the pandemic. In keeping with her sustainability-minded ethos, this mask and others like it, were made from deadstock materials from Strada’s past fashion collections. Each is a one-of-a-kind creation, and for every mask purchased, three masks were donated to the Seeding Sovereignty organization. Retailing at $100USD, Strada’s website noted that if you were sick and the mask out of your price range, other masks were available to send at no charge.
